Trinity Lights is a
description of the members of Trinity who shine their lights to the world.
| Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A city on a
hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead
they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way,
let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father
in heaven." Matthew 5:14-16Having received the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
we now seek to let His light shine in us and through us.As St. Paul said, "You were
once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light."

Trinity Lights are made up
of neighborhood groups .
 Future Neighborhood Gatherings |
One goal of the Trinity Lights is to bring people together with
their neighbors. Each group will have the opportunity to come together for a special
dinner designed to help Trinity members get to know other members of Trinity that live
around them. They will also receive neighborhood directories which will help them to
better kinow the community immediately around them. Neighborhood gatherings of Trinity
members will be held once a month for different groups around the Quad Cities.A second
goal of the Trinity Lights is to be Gospel lights for our community. To be a Gospel light,
individuals follow three simple steps - Prayer, Care and Share. Trinity Lights pray for
their neighbors. While praying, they look for opportunities and occassions to care for
their neighbors and share with them their personal faith. |
The Lighthouse Movement
All
across America, Christians like you are pushing back the darkness and shining as beacons
of hope in their neighborhoods, schools and work places. The goal of this movement is
simple: to pray for, care for and share the good news of Jesus Christ with every man,
woman and young person in the U.S. by the end of the year 2000. Over 350 national
denominations and ministries are collaborating to mobilize 100,000 local churches to
establish 3 million Lighthouses - reaching a staggering 260,000,000 Americans from coast
to coast.
As we
begin this new millenium, you can play a key role in the most massive, intensive and
inclusive evangelistic outreaches in the history of our nation!
Today you
can register to be part of this historic movement. Trinity Lutheran Church and School is
now a registered participant. It's your turn to join hands with Trinity and thousands of
others around the nation in shining your light into this dark world.
